Mtimaukanena, Mwando now legally married
Malawi’s celebrated female boxer Agnes Mtimaukanena and Zimbabwean boxer Briane Mwando are now legally married after obtaining their marriage certificate from the Registrar’s Office in Blantyre on Friday.
The two lovebirds, who officially engaged few months ago at the Shire Highlands Hotel in Blantyre , have confirmed that their marriage is now legally accepted as they wait for their wedding celebrations in Harare, Zimbabwe, in December.
Assistant registrar general Joseph Chimtolo is said to be the one who granted the boxers the very important document that has now made them husband and wife.
“I am finally a wife. From now on, call me Agnes Mtimaukanena-Mwando,” the 22-year-old Malawian told The Nation on Saturday.
Her Zimbabwean husband, who was expected to take on Malawi Defence Force (MDF) pugilist Alick Mwenda at Mkango Lodge in Blantyre on Sunday, said he is happy to have an understanding and caring wife.
